Doug Grode Selected As FM’s Director Of Maintenance & Alterations

On January 22nd, 2019, AVC FM Kelly Schmader announced that Doug Grode was selected as FM’s new Director of Maintenance & Alterations (M&A).  Grode has been with UCLA FM for 29 years, starting as an Electrician, moving to Lead Electrician, and ultimately to the Manager of the entire Electric Shop.  In 2008, he was promoted to Deputy Director of M&A, and for the past year, he has served the FM team as M&A’s Interim Director.    
Schmader said, “I have known very few people in my 35 years in the facilities business who demonstrate the levels of commitment, teamwork and leadership by example as Doug Grode. These of course are only a few of the many attributes that have earned Doug the campus-wide respect and credibility that he enjoys. It would be an understatement to say that the M&A team is a very large and vital part of our FM organization, and I’m happy to say I don’t think our roughly 400 amazing M&A employees could be in better hands.”
