How does it work?

  1. UCLA Energy Services will connect with your department to review buildings and facilities that the department deems fit for HVAC optimization.
  2. If needed, ES will support on understanding your building usage and make recommendations in one of two ways:

    1. The ES team will analyze the available data of your HVACs and make suggestions based on the building open hours and current schedules.
    2. ES will offer to install FREE temporary occupancy sensors that will identify room usage hours. Data collected from a monthly temporary occupancy sensor study can assist the department in hour reduction assignment. For rooms with variable occupancy, such data collected can support department procurement of permanent occupancy sensors that will adjust HVAC controls and lighting based on room use.
  3. In addition to overall annual savings with the scheduling updates, the ES team will issue an additional rebate that equals 30% of the overall energy saved.

The initial consult and review, along with potential occupancy
sensor installation, is completely FREE.
